One-off Wednesday begins with a Scotch Ale on Nitro. (I can tell you, it is delicious!)

Our Scotch Ale is a “wee heavy” … with an ABV of 8%. (Historically, the alcohol content of Scottish ales was measured in shillings–the higher alcohol content beers were called “wee heavy” and priced at 90+ shillings.) This particular version, a malt forward, rich mahogany hued ale,  gets its color from roasted barley. Victory and crystal malts round out the malt bill and give this beer its distinctively rich flavor … Chinook and East Kent Golding (EKG) hops add just enough balance to keep it from being overly sweet. We’re serving it “on nitro” to enhance the velvety creaminess and amazing mouth feel.

Like all of our one-off-Wednesday brews–our Scotch Ale is available only in the tasting room by the glass in limited quantities (sorry, no growler fills)–don’t expect to find it still on tap on Thursday or Friday.
