SUMMARY:Donut Relay
DESCRIPTION:What’s better than enjoying a donut after a race? Enjoying multiple donuts DURING a race! Register now! \nGrab three of your closest\, craziest friends and come out to Old Ox Brewery In Ashburn\, VA on Saturday\, June 22nd\, for the Trottin’ Oxen Annual Donut Relay! \nTeams of 4 people come together to eat and run. Each team must consume a dozen donuts between them. Any way you cut it. Each person has to eat at least one donut – outside of that\, anything goes! One person eats nine and the other three eat one apiece – totally fine! The first three eat one apiece and stiff the fourth runner to eat nine?? All is fair in run and donut. \nEach person starts their leg by eating their share of donuts (between 1 and 9 donuts each runner)\, then departs for a one-mile loop around the Old Ox Neighborhood before returning to the Donut Eating Exchange Zone behind Old Ox. As soon as you hit the exchange zone – your next teammate can start slamming donuts. \nEach participant will get a free beer\, an Old Ox special gift\, and of course\, a copious number of Krispy Kreme donuts! \nTHE AFTER PARTY! \nWhat’s a good race without a great after party? As the relay finishes the party continues–relax\, drink beers and let your digest donuts in the Old Ox parking lot. Enjoy… \nAWARDS \nFastest All-Female team\nFastest All-Male team\nFastest Co-Ed (at least 1 male or 1 female) team\nMost Spirited Team \nSTART \nWe will start this event in waves if needed\, with the teams expected to take longer starting earlier. We will start the first wave at 11:00 am and expect every team to be finished by 1:00 pm. Awards will be around 1:30 pm. \nREGISTRATION \nA team captain must create a team-name and pay the entry fee up front. They can either add each team-member when registering or ask their teammates to enter themselves individually. You do not have to enter all your team-members when you register\, you can go back and do so\, but their information must be entered before race-day. If you have your teammates enter their own information – BE SURE THEY KNOW YOUR EXACT TEAM NAME. In the past we have had several common names last year and this can get confusing. \nPACKET-PICK-UP \nOn race day from 9:30 am- 10:30am. We will assign waves to each team. Earlier waves must pick up their packet earlier\, but later waves can come later. The first wave will start at 11:00. Detailed instructions will be emailed.

SUMMARY:Ruck to Remember
DESCRIPTION:Come raise a pint to the team members from Ruck to Remember as they take a much-needed rest at mile 20 of their 60-kilometer trek to Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery. \nThe 2024 Ruck to Remember is a grueling 60-kilometer hike\, with 13 miles over a rough\, mountainous terrain that includes 14 peaks\, and 4 of those are severe climbs.  Phase II takes them down the W&OD trail known as the Warriors Walk.  The 60-to-60 culminates with the National Final Miles on Memorial Day morning. Though it is only 60-kilometers\, it feels much longer and more intense due to the severity of the inclines and declines on the mountain. \nOver the past 9 years\, Old Ox has been honored to host Ruck to Remember. Listen to the amazing Stories of Valor of our fallen heroes. Memorial Day Sunday.

SUMMARY:American Craft Beer Week
DESCRIPTION:In honor of American Craft Beer Week\, our NOVA Homebrew Club is brewing up something special. Every night from May 15-18 a different brewer will present a different beer. Come try these carefully crafted brews to mark the “Official Start of Beer Season!” \nWednesday\, May 15: Clan Wolf Scottish Wee Heavy brewed by Jim. \nThursday\, May 16: Wit’ty Repartee Belgian Wit brewed by Carl. \nFriday\, May 17: Bat out of Helles Munich Helles Lager brewed by Mark. \nSaturday\, May 18: California Common (Mariposa Street) brewed by Brent. \nClan Wolf Wee Heavy brewed by Jim \nFood Pairing: BBQ Burger with angus patty\, bacon\, house spicy BBQ sauce\, smoked Grandamer\, brioche bun. \nA Scottish Wee Heavy with a rich and sweet malty flavor and aroma. Notes of caramel and peat. ABV: 9.4% \n  \n  \n  \nWit’ty Repartee Belgian Wit brewed by Carl \nFood Pairing: Fry Flight with curry ketchup\, roasted garlic aioli\, pimento cheese. \nThis Belgian wit will tantalize the senses with its playful charm and refreshing character. With a hazy\, pale straw hue crowned with a fluffy white head and aromas of zesty citrus dance alongside hints of freshly cracked pepper. Upon the first sip\, the drinker will experience a lively effervescence and a subtle sweetness. Notes of orange peel and lemon zest intertwine harmoniously with the spicy undertones of grains of paradise\, creating a complex yet approachable flavor profile. Its light body and crisp finish make it a perfect companion for warm afternoons or leisurely evenings. True to its name\, Wit’ty Repartee sparks conversation and leaves a lasting impression with its wit and charm\, whether enjoyed among friends or savored in solitude.  ABV: 5% Brewer: Carl \nBat Out of Helles Munich Helles Lager brewed by Mark \nFood Pairing: Reuben with house made corned beef\, kraut\, spicy island dressing\, local marble rye. \nThis Munich Helles pays Homage to the Brewers from Spaten Brewery for developing a world-renowned beer. A Munich Helles is a Lager…but a unique and distinctive one. Helles\, which translates to “bright\,” “pale\,” or “light” is a Lager that was originally developed around Munich in the late nineteenth century by the Spaten Brewery in Munich Germany. Traditionally the Helles Lager is a bit bready and exerts a malt-forward characteristic. Sometimes referred to as a “Munich Helles Lager\,” this classic beer is medium-bodied\, pours heady\, and has a striking golden color. It is a flavorful yet refreshingly uncomplicated style and one of the world’s most common and popular beers. Inherently sessionable due to its relatively low ABV\, these Lagers lend themselves to early afternoon and hot weather drinking. The Helles Lager is what is called a classic “lawnmower” beer – and it is the perfect refreshment after a hot summer day of working in the yard or biking and a vacation standard built for drinking many! ABV: 4.8%  Brewer: Mark \n \nCalifornia Common (Mariposa Street) Amber Lager brewed by Brent \nFood Pairing: Chicken Natchos with smoky chicken\, beer queso\, pico de gallo. \nThis amber lager is a nod to a San Francisco brewery that made the California Common style famous. The grain bill (Pale\, Crystal\, Extra Special) produces a light amber beer with a malty sweetness and toasty notes. The hops (German Northern Brewer) contribute herbal\, pine\, and mint tones. The yeast (California Lager) produces a clean profile but with a touch more fruity esters than a typical lager yeast. The goal is an easy drinking lager loaded with flavor. ABV: 5.5%  Brewer: Brent \n
