DESCRIPTION:“I am an Uzbek born in Faryab\, Afghanistan\, a well-known state in the north. My family was huge in hospitality; therefore\, our guest house was always full of friends and family. Some stayed for weeks at a time and we loved it. Our family loved to eat and feed our guests. Kabobs were one of the main dishes our family made regularly. They were done with fresh meat\, marinated with fresh ingredients\, and served fresh off the grill. This is where I fell in love with kabobs. Since I grew up around food\, I thought it would be best for me to work at a restaurant. At 15\, I started work at a Turkish restaurant. My first job was a waiter\, and I eventually worked my way into the kitchen\, assisting chefs. I came to the United States more than 15 years ago and started working at a restaurant as a chef/bartender. About two years ago\, I started the Turkish Kabob Food Truck\, which has been highly successful. My family proudly served kabobs as the main dish to all our guests; therefore\, I proudly serve you the same dish.”

DESCRIPTION:Singer/songwriter/saxophonist Ken Francis Wenzel will introduce his own roots-rock\, country jazz-tinged take on love\, learning and life in contemporary America to the Old Ox crowd on Friday night. Ken studied classical saxophone at the University of Illinois before graduating from UNLV in Las Vegas with a degree in jazz studies. After a decade of playing saxophone all over the world with renowned artists such as Frankie Avalon\, Been Vereen\, Bobby Parker\, and Carlos Santana\, he tired of being considered “just” a saxophonist.
