Important Weather Announcement – Please Read and Forward to all runners

We have decided to hold the race on Saturday, February 25th. Due to the possibility of inclement weather in the afternoon, we have decided to move all race activities up 30 minutes. Race check in will now begin at 9:30 AM and the first wave of runners will begin at 10:30 AM.

In an abundance of caution we’ve had to make a slight change to the format of the race. We’ve moved the doughnut eating station to the brewery. Runners will eat doughnuts prior to starting their 2 mile run. We will have a team of volunteers at the one mile marker letting runners know the turn-around point.

Old Ox Brewery and B Doughnut have partnered with Potomac River Running to bring you the first doughnut relay in northern Virginia!

Teams of 4 compete on an 8-mile relay team while consuming a dozen doughnuts! Each person will run one mile, consume doughnuts, and run a mile back to the start to hand-off to their teammate. Every team must consume a dozen doughnuts — any way they want! Three people eat one and one person eats nine? Eat a bite and run back to stiff your teammates? All is fair in run and doughnut.

There will also be awards from Saucony for fastest team, best costume, and most spirit! Plus, test out the latest Saucony shoes for your relay leg.

What’s included:

• Team registration (4 people per team)
• One dozen beer-glazed doughnuts by B Doughnut!
• One post-race beer per team member (4 beers per team)

The cost of the race is $70 per team of 4. This race is capped at 35 teams of 4 people. Only one person is required to reserve a team. You must have 4 people check in for your relay team on race day. Each member must sign a waiver prior to participating in the event (provided during check in).

Frequently Asked Questions

Only those age 21 and over are able to participate in the Old Ox B Doughnut Relay. Each participatant must present a valid I.D. during check in.

What time does the race start?

Check in begins at 9:30 AM and the race starts at 10:30 AM. Do not be late!

How far is the relay?

The doughnut station is at the brewery. Each runner must consume doughnuts, run a mile and run back, for a total of 2 miles.

What is the cancellation policy?

Sorry, there are NO refunds for cancellations. This event is rain or shine!
