The crew at Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn, VA is looking for an outgoing and experienced individual who is passionate about craft beer to lead our awesome Tasting Room team. This is a mission critical position. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for the tasting room’s overall operations and efficiency and meets regularly with ownership to review tasting room performance. This position is ideal for someone who has previous experience managing a restaurant or brewery/winery tasting room.
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Be able to work weekends and holidays
- Have 3+ years previous management level experience in restaurant, brewery, winery, or customer service industries
- Have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, lift up to 50 lbs
- Handling general oversight and direction of tasting room staff
- Assisting with hiring, human resources and staff recruitment
- Assuming responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the tasting room
- Assigning/delegating tasks as appropriate to team members
- Training/coaching team members on tasting room procedures
- Communicating with team members on new products and procedures and upcoming events including “weekend sheet”
- Attending weekly operations meeting
- Scheduling food trucks
- Acting as ABC manager role as necessary
- Managing customer requests for party reservations, keg pickups, etc. This includes communication in advance, confirmation, and thank you after event
- Maintaining events on OOB calendar
- Managing inventory
- Overseeing staff scheduling
- Pricing and stocking or delegating accordingly
- Filling in for tasting room staff when necessary
- Setting up new products in our Point of Sale system
- Managing new beers on Untapped, OX BOX and bar top signs
- Other duties as assigned
